ProSim

ProSim simulations are online business simulations built exclusively for colleges and universities. These simulations are industry-specific, highly visual, and easy to use. ProSim simulations are from Knowledge Matters, the leading provider of business simulations for high schools. The ProSim line of simulations specifically targets the business concepts taught at the post-secondary level. ProSim simulations are built from extensive interviews with practicing successful business people. The simulations are built on finite element models that track every detail of the business.

Restaurant Management
In this first ProSim title your students are in the role of entrepreneurs who will start their own restaurant from the ground up. Students will be required to pick a location, set up their restaurant, design a menu, set staffing levels, purchase capital equipment, pay attention to customer comments and needs, and more. Students use reports such as menu mix, income statements, and balance sheets to understand what is happening in their business.

Views, Actions, and Reports
Students interact with their restaurant through a series of views, actions, and reports. The views include city, dining room, kitchen, and storage views. The actions menu lets students directly control all aspects of their restaurant. These actions include Open, Move, and Close Restaurant, Edit Menu, Purchasing, Pricing, Staffing, Dining Layout, and Kitchen Layout. Additional marketing actions include Restaurant Guide, Menu Flyers, Table Tents, and Suggestive Selling. Finally, a series of reports lets students analyze their restaurant's performance. These reports include Financials, Product/Menu Mix, Week-Part Sales, Inventory, Ratings, Menu Matrix, and Customer Comments.

Teacher Assessment
All student simulation results are consolidated into one easy-to-access area. Student progress can be evaluated on a number of parameters including profit, revenue, staffing cost, food cost, waste, and restaurant rating. Student's simulations are also available for the professor to review.
